Fare thee well

We're off to the cottage for the week, so will be on bloggy hiatus until September. Woot woot! I am looking forward to fun in the sun, and to having Rob around all week to help with spontaneous vomit, which seems to be Evy's latest trick. Dee-liteful!

Here are some pictures of the beautiful wee miss, modelling yet another present from her fabulous and wonderful auntie JJ in England. The hat, though slightly too large, is coming with us to the cottage for the week. It's adorable, and makes me laugh because it totally looks like an olde-fashioned baby hat! Soo cute!

Anyhoo, will report back when we're home from the cottage, with lots of fun pictures! Have a great week and Labour Day!!

The lil' lady

It was a scorcher yesterday, so Evy wore her beautiful lil' summer dress (thanks Greg & Tammy!). She looked pretty darn cute, so we took some pictures of her last night for your enjoyment!

Cottage Fun

We had a great visit with Lee & Chris and the boys at the cottage they are renting up north. Evy got reacquainted with her cousins, and though the temperature was a bit chilly, it was sunny and was the first day in a LONG time that we didn't have any rain.

Hopefully the weather will improve later this month when Rob and I will be up at Redrox. It's been pretty chilly at night - 10 degrees or so - and might be a bit too cold up on Stoney Lake! Brrr! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll get some warm weather again!

It doesn't seem fair that this winter had the most snowfall and this summer has had the most rain - and this is the year we chose to move home! Doh! I think anyone who doesn't believe that global warming is real should come and spend a year here!

Here are some pics from the cousin's cottage fun!

Family Fun

To make up for abandoning us last week, Granny and Poppa J came for dinner yesterday and brought all the food themselves. Emily, Ben & Kristin, and Barbara (aka Great Granny) also came, and we had a lovely meal and a great visit.

After a weekend of miserable, rainy weather, the sun came out and we actually got to sit outside.

In other news, I thought it was time to update the look of ole' bloggy. Also, miss Evy is 6 weeks old tomorrow! I think we're going to drive up to visit Lee & Chris at the cottage they are renting, so there should be some more fun pictures later in the week! Especially the 'Sammy and Evy: the re-match' pictures!!

Dog sittin'

Sorry it's been so long since I updated. Evy and I were dog sitting for Al & Jim, who went to New Brunswick last week. We relocated to their house for the week, and that's why no updates to bloggy land!

We had a busy week, and kept very busy taking the doggies for walks, and throwing the frisbee about one million times. My shoulder has been sore, and I just realized it must be from throwing toys for the dogs!

Miss Evy had a trying week. I'm not sure if she officially has colic, but she was sure acting like it. So, being one to embrace pharmaceuticals, I went on a mission of mercy and bought Gripe Water, colic drops, baby advil, and a homeopathic colic remedy. I'm not sure if any of it actually worked (don't worry, I didn't use it all at once!) but at least it made me feel like I was doing something to help my poor sad baby.

She has been much happier the past few days, so maybe it was just something I ate that didn't agree with her.

Here are a few shots from the past week for your enjoyment:

Miss Piggy!

The wee miss had a great appointment at the doctor's. She is doing really well and is an amazing 7lb, 8oz. The last time she was weighed (when she was 8 days old) she was 5lb, 13oz, so she has done VERY well in the past few weeks!

Here are some more shots of the lil' one month old, taken today on a visit to Granny and Poppa's house:

one month old!!

Holy Cow - The wee miss is one month old!

I can't believe the past four weeks have gone by so quickly!
It has been an amazing, fabulous, frustrating, sleep-deprived, and wonderful month.

She is such a special girl, and I love her SO much... even when she's crabby, gassy, and crying!

We're off to the pediatrician this afternoon to check her weight - I think she's grown lots, though to other people she still looks tiny! I'll report back on how much the piglet weighs now!

Here are some pictures from yesterday. It was a hot day, and the young lady was sporting only a diaper.

"Happy birthday to meeee, happy birthday to meeeee"

"Ooww, your tone deaf singing hurts my ears, mummy!"
