Tiny house

Soooo, Rob was busy while we were away, making a fabulous playhouse for miss E's big 2nd birthday! She's SUCH a lucky girl. It's beautiful and I want my own tiny playhouse. It comes complete with a tiny porch, windows, laminate flooring, and tiny fridge, dishwasher, oven, and washing machine. I'm going to teacher her to do laundry and make dinner from a young age - should work out nicely for me.

Here are some photos of the beautiful gift from daddy:

2 (less 2 days)

Can you even believe that this little lady is going to be 2 on Thursday? Where has the time gone?

Memories....

Well it seems like only a few days ago that Evy and I were hanging out on the Funday Trail. Oh wait, it was. After an ordeal at the airport yesterday, then work today, it seems like a million years ago.

We had a great time, and I am already thinking about the next trip. Maybe this fall? (Wouldn't that be nice, granny & poppa?!).

Here are some photos from our Saturday-night-drive along the Fundy Trail Parkway.

Down by the bay...

The weather is perfect here today and we finally had our beach adventure. Evy quite enjoyed it, though I'll never understand how anyone swims in water that cold. I think I went in up to my ankle bone and almost had a heart attack.

Evy says, "Hello Fundy my old friend!"
(This is the same beach where she ate a
rock last year and, shall we say, it went
undiscovered until changing-time back
in Ontario a few days later).

Oggy gives Evy a free tutorial in how to dig on the beach

Beautiful Duck Pond Beach
(We were the only people there - was lovely!)

I am distraught (BROKEN!) and saddened to think that tomorrow is our last full day here. We fly back on Sunday (right into end-of-G20-airport-chaos, oh goody). But, the day's not over yet, and a visit with Brown's Beach and some time in Saint Martins tomorrow are still on the agenda.

Baby horses

You can kind of understand Evy's obsession with the baby horses. She now sets off down the driveway herself to go and see them and says, "I like baby horses" about 1,000 times a day.

They are baby mini-horses and are smaller than a labrador doggy. Pretty darn cute! (Rob, can I have one? Actually, can Evy have one too?)

What a happy girl...

A certain little someone has been having a pretty great trip so far... And a certain little someone seems to be having a growth spurt, since all her pants are now capris. Granted, she's been wearing some of these pants for 6 months, but she's definitely getting taller!

Here's another cute pic from the other day - little madam in the flower patch.

Fun, fog and sun!

Have I mentioned how much I love it here?

We've been having a lovely time. Yesterday we drove along the Fundy Trail Parkway. It was a funny day, being very foggy but sunny at the same time, so the views from the Parkway weren't as gorgeous as normal. But the sun was hot, and we had a wonderful picnic along the shore of Salmon River.

Evy is the happiest wee girl, with 4 doting adults following her every move. She asks to see Oggy and Penny as soon as she wakes up. She has also finally got a name for Granny. She calls her 'Guy' (like Lafleur, not Smiley).

Today? Not sure yet. We'll maybe go to Sussex for a Strawberry Social supper this afternoon (so East Coast, non?) and might have a pie-baking seminar, led by 92-year old granny this morning.

Here are some photos for your enjoyment!

Fun times on Fundy

It's day 2 and we're fully into east-coast mode. That means that laziness and slow-motion-moving have taken over. Evy and I are nicely settled into our beautiful accomodations and she thinks it's hilarious to sleep in the same room as mom (granted, it's about 28 feet away).

Was foggy this morning so we drove into St John and toured the local sights (Value Village and Dollarama). And, our afternoon walk included another visit to the mini horses and their two babies. Evy could not be more in love with the horses. (Dare I say that she's talking more about them than she is about Maia? Unheard of!).

The next 2 days are supposed to be sunny and lovely, so we're going to do up the Fundy Trail Parkway tomorrow. And no doubt we'll have to do another visit to the mini-horses. Will have to see if we can get her a ride on one of them by the end of the week - stay tuned for pictures.

Speaking of, here are some snaps from today and yesterday:

'De plane, boss

Thank buddha the flight is only 2 hours because it wasn't very much fun.

Bedtime? Forget it.
Sitting quietly? I don't think so.
Pulling the window shade up and down 1,000 times? Absolutely.
Kicking mom in the face? Youbetcha!

Glad the flight home is at 11am, not 11pm!

Ahhhhhh.....

We made it!

And although it's a grey day out there, I'm very glad to be here. The flight was uneventful other than the fact that Evy didn't sleep a wink and holding her was like wrasslin' a rabid snake (can snakes get rabies?) for 2 hours. The plane was delayed so we didn't land until 12:45 and so we're all kinda weary today.

Miss E is still having her afternoon nap, so I had a nice wander around outside. Everything is just as lovely as I remember, and the new garage with sleeping loft above is gorgeous. Now we just need some sunshine so I can wave hi to the Bay!

Don't sit on this chair after a drink or two

N.B is wild rose country too!

Chippy chipmunk

Whenever we see a chipmunk outside, Evy goes into a full glee seizure (gleizure?). She keeps saying, 'Hug it', and tries her very best to go and give the little striped fuzzies a hug. For some reason, they aren't ok with her plan, so she's yet to succeed.

But, I think the chip-obsession is starting to effect her... you can judge for yourselves:

A Fair to Remember

The annual Millbrook Fair took place this weekend and we made the most of it.

We went yesterday and today in order to give Miss Ev a proper introduction to the Fair lifestyle. (Including a crash course in 'Why Carnies only have two teefs'). A very jolly time was had by all, and we have the pictures to prove it.

Waved, screeched and giggled every time she passed by us

Taking a much deserved 'ice cream' (edible oil product) break

A gleeful wave to mom and pops

Much to my dismay, we had to leave before the Demo Derby got underway - it was really taking me back to my youth and the fine Lakefield Fair. There really is nothing like watching cars intentionally smash in to each other. Now that's entertainment!

In other news, one week until we are in New Brunswick, having a great time with Granny and Poppa. I've been busy working out the logistics of getting through the airport with the 2-year old and the 92-year old. My best strategy so far involves putting Great Granny B in a wheelchair and then putting Evy in her lap, but that leaves the luggage. Plan B is to get Evy to push Granny B in wheelchair and I'll do luggage...? I have, of course, requested assistance and we'll no doubt be plunked on one of the fancy golf carts to get through the terminal, so I'm sure it'll all be fine. Until then, I shall be dreaming of the fresh Fundy air!
