A belated tribute to Sir Sam

Having finally sorted through the pictures on my camera, I'm proud to share some photos with you from Sir Samuel's birthday celebration at the end of Feb. The day started with the Pancake Breakfast at the Lion's club (yum!) and ended with cake at chez nous. (Because the kids didn't get enough sugar with the drinking maple syrup, etc. Who says diabetic comas can't be jolly?)

Little big man hit the big '3'. Evy's still coming to terms with the reality that, for at least 4 short months, she and Sam are not the same age. Good for them to learn at a young age that life can be harsh. (She also thinks that she'll be starting school soon and that she'll get to take the bus. I'm trying to gently disabuse her of this notion. And only a 2 year old would think that a school bus was fun).

Here's little Sir, getting his cake on... while not having any pants on (though you can't tell from this picture. I guess we can blame Evy for their pantless state. Her new favourite pastime is being a 'nudesie'. )

Big boy's cake time!

Wayward glances?

Really not sure what those chimps are looking at in that last picture. Am going to go sit on the bottom step and look for giant cobwebs or secret toddler messages inscribed on the ceiling. What can I say, they are just weirdos.

So, happy (late) birthday wishes to Samuel, and of course to Charley too who turned the big 5 the week before. Crazy how fast those boys are growing up! And Evy too, I guess, although it'll be a while before she's in their weight class!
